3. She is not afraid of taking risks
Alia is fairly new to Bollywood and is fearless in the choices of films she takes up. She played a Tamil girl in 2 States which is far from her personality. A movie like Highway was clearly a risky move as far as her career is concerned.
The role of Veera demanded her to strip off her glamorous avatar and face camera in her own skin, raw & unedited. Also, the role was a powerful one. The pairing was another challenging part as Alia had to share screen space with Randeep Hooda, who has a rugged, raw personality. Alia not only took up the challenge but also played it astoundingly well. Alia bagged the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for Highway.
