Or should I say the confusing buildup to the debut.
Deepika was signed by Farah Khan for… No, not Om Shanti Om but Happy New Year.
Happy New Year ended up getting shelved, and since Farah did not want to lose on a great girl, she signed her for Om Shanti Om.
6. Saawariya
Deepika Padukone was to make her debut with Ranbir Kapoor (really?) in Saawariya. Sanjay Leela Bhansali eventually went for the ‘star daughter-star son’ Jodi aka Ranbir & Sonam. And we all know these movies released on the same day! Guess Mr. Bhansali made a hasty decision there.
